Nar & Phu Valley Trekking... Newly Opened, and exploring the Manang... North of Kotho Village and way to Manang there we can find desolate valleys of Nar & Phu, where few have been before. Close to the Tibetan frontier and restricted to the foreigners, it has been recently opened by Nepalese Government under the new regulations. So what we did last time we repeat it again - visiting these unfrequented valleys.
Still foreigners are the strangers to the locals, you can feel the innocent stare of eyes to everybody passing nearby. The recent changes happen as the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) now confines the Valleys of Nar & Phu. Special permit has to be obtained to trek here and you'll find your plans a worth to visit the place when you see much of things are pristine and far from the frequently visited places, its great to be there.
Prayer Flags - What you see very often while trekking in Himalaya
While you trek in Nepal, in most of the places you see the strips of coloured cloth printed with Buddhist sutras are strung up at the top of passes and streams and houses. The colours are highly symbolic - red, green, yellow, blue and white represent the elements of fire, wood, earth water and iron. These are believed to purify the air and pacify the gods. Beautiful, multi-hued prayer flags line every hilltop, rock wall and trailside singing prayers to the gods with every breeze and every passing traveler.
Climbing the smaller peaks
While you trek in Nepal, lets say in most of the places you'll have an option or more to the extension of your plan to climb lesser known peaks designated as "Trekking Peaks".
