Mr. Mohan Lamsal founded Makalu Adventures in 1998. Having worked with another trekking office for 10 years. He brought with him the knowledge and experience of operating and running Makalu Adventure. His main aim is providing highly professional and personalized service to all his clients and cater to the various needs and demands of the client.
As an adventurer by nature. He has trekked in all parts of Nepal and Tibet especially to discover about the logistics and feasibility of the new Trekking and Mountain biking routes. For 2016 Makalu Adventure is proud to announce two new trekking routes; The Limi Valley Trek in Far western Nepal. As the old route from Jomsom to Lo Manthang is now more trouble we have introduced a beautiful new route from Nar Phu to Lo Manthang over the Teri La pass. He is also pioneer in operating the Lhasa Kathmandu Mountain Bike Tour.
Trekking Agency Association of Nepal is an association which represents all the trekking agencies in Nepal. With his high reputation and popularity Mr. Mohan Lamsal has been elected in key post such as General Secretary for 2011 to 2013. He later became the Treasurer of the association.
Porters play a vital role in the success of any trekking or expedition coming from a low income bracket they carry loads from camp to camp. A porters association was formed to cater to the needs of the porters. With the formation of the association it has now become mandatory for all trekking agents to look after the porter’s welfare. Now each trekking agency provides each porter warm Jacket, warm pants, boots, woollen gloves, shocks and caps. Each porter now has an insurance policy which covers up accidents as well as life insurance. Mr. Mohan Lamsal served as the president of the porters association from 2009 to 2011. During this period he introduced many things for the welfare of the porters.
Having deep knowledge of the Trekking, Travel and Mountain Biking business he frequently travels to America and European countries to take part in the various travel marts in order to market the various Trekking, Mountain Biking and Expedition products.

Shila Lamsal is Executive Director of Makalu Adventure group, which incorporates three tourism service organizations in Nepal, with more than 26 employees.
She joined Makalu Adventure in April 1998, and in 2006 was promoted to Executive Director. She is responsible for entire core operations, with primary responsibility of new destination research and program development. She also represents Makalu Adventure in international Tourism Shows and Exhibitions.
She holds the GDS training for Travel & Tourism, credential from International Air Transport Association (IATA). Less than 5 percent of all association professionals in the country have achieved this mark of excellence.

Kiran Sharma our Director of International Marketing started his travel trade career looking after the reservation department. With his hard work and initiative he was deputed to the post of Operations Manager for a reputed company based in Kathmandu.
His keen interest in outdoor activities led him to do a number of treks in Nepal and Tibet. With his knowledge of the various trekking routes and the logistics. He was responsible for corresponding with clients informing them of the itineraries and various vital information regarding trekking. With his experience as Operation Manager and his field knowledge. He soon became the Manager of Marketing.
He later went to America and is based in Las Vegas. Presently he is running a travel Agency Makalu
Travels and Tours. With his strong bond with the Managing Director and CEO of Makalu Adventures he joined us in 2002. He is now responsible for Marketing our trekking, tours and mountain bike programs internationally.

Laxman is MD of our Travel section. His responsibilities include making reservations on internal flights and issuing tickets per our client's requirements.His section is always ready when we have to check last moment availability on flights, or change the dates depending on condition as it comes.

Yuba joined Makalu Adventure in 2005 as an Outdoor Adventure Specialist, bringing with him the passion and expertise for outdoor activities and believes in one simple truth: an outdoor life is a life well-lived. His responsibilities include, but are not limited to overseeing the day to day running of the company, dealing with the incoming queries and using professional knowledge to answer specific questions from the clients.
Passionate about outdoor activities Yuba takes delight in walking bare foot and has set the record of having barefooted Everest Base Camp and appeals others to benefit from it too.
Mr. Lakpa Norbhu Sherpa CEO of Makalu Adventure group is the son of late Mr. Gyalzen Norbu Sherpa who was the first person to climb two 8000 m peaks namely Mt. Makalu in 1955 with the French and Mt. Manaslu with the Japanese in 1956. Having graduated from Kolkata University in bachelor of commerce. Just like his father's love for the mountains he too began his career in the field of trekking.
He has trekked extensively all over Nepal, Sikkim and India. He has in depth knowledge of all the trekking areas. His educational qualification and field knowledge led him to looking after the operation work and became the director of operation, he has over 32 years of experience in the field of operation which is the backbone in the trekking business .we endeavor to see that each client once they come to Kathmandu till their departure is fully satisfied with the quality of service and has got their money's worth.
With his outstanding work and growth of our organization he is now the CEO of Makalu Adventure group. Starting with a trekking office, we now have a travel agency doing both domestic and international ticketing. Our own hotel located in Thamel the center of Kathmandu. For those clients who want peace and love nature and view of the mountains we have a resort in Nagarkot offering magnificent views of the mountains. We also own a fleet of vehicles to cater to our clients need.

Roy is our Expeditions Director. He is the owner of adventure travel company Pilgrim Expeditions in the United Kingdom. Together with Roy we have done several strenuous and demanding trekking and expeditions. He has been member of successful British expedition to Mount Everest.
Roy has trekked in the Nepal Himalaya to raise the fund of £30,000.00 for Cancer Research UK in 2002.
He has mountaineering experience of more than 30 years.
He was former in British Special Security forces.
