Everest East face Trekking

Overview
KHARTA AND KANGSUNG VALLEYS TIBET. To the world's most hidden valleys around the Everest. The highest of the great mountains of the world seems to require a single gesture of mastery in order to establish as the queen of them all, immense in its solitary and unrivaled supremacy. The allure, and the remarkable spectacle offered by the icy mass of Everest, which looms over the desert highlands of Tibet are as enchanting today as they did since centuries.

To the north, the great mountains look out directly over an arid, inhospitable highland, where the presence of human is infrequent and limited. This picture changes only to the east of Everest, where the high Arun Valley, where the humidity of the monsoons is felt, shows a visitor forests of rhododendron and juniper, which give way toward the border to great evergreen woods. Here, more than to the south, the presence of human monuments and civilization is quite surprising.

What they said

"Early morning mist lifted quickly and the first snowy peaks appeared. We set off early and rested near the river before the steep ascent onto the terrace above the Kama valley and into the Kangshung valley, where we were to trek. The meadow floor was carpeted with flowers, with dewdrops glistening in the bright morning sun. The sun's reflection on the river, the array of colours, the snowy peaks in the background, these were experiences I shall never forget."

- Says Edwin Gruber who organized his trek with us on June 2003.
