Crossing
Tashi Lapcha Pass (5,755m /
18,881ft) |
|
|
|
|
You must start out early because during the latter part of the day
it is in constant danger of rock falls. The strain and degree of difficulty are constantly rewarded, the magnificence of the omni-present mountains. On the approach to the Tashi
Lapcha (5,755m), the northern skyline is constantly dominated by the summit of Mt. Gauri Shankar (7146 m.), for a long time confused with Everest and thought to be the highest mountain in the world.
This trek takes you through a demographic cross section of Nepal that can not be sampled on any other trek.

EVEREST
BASE CAMP - Among the worlds journeys of lifetime
|
Everest
Trek in justifiably famous, not only for its proximity to the world's highest mountain
(8,848m) but also for its friendly Sherpa people, picturesque villages, great variety of cultures and traditions, colorful festivals and monasteries. The story of the yeti is still a mystery in the world from the Khumbu region.
So, must be why it has been selected among world's 20 Journeys of
Lifetime by The Observer, UK (11, January 2004).
